Pike Fly Fishing at Bewl Water.

With immediate effect fly fishing for Pike will be allowed at Bewl Water, Andy Lush from the Friendly Fisherman has approached fishery owner Simon Hume-Kendall regarding the possibility of opening the reservoir to Pike Fly Fisherman and his representations were meet with enthusiasm.

"I'm very pleased that the new regime at Bewl are so pro-active towards pike and pike fisherman, this is the first of two major initiatives that are taking place at the reservoir this year" said Andy.

This year will be a trial period to make sure there are no unforeseen problems, also the pike's welfare has to be taken into consideration, with this in mind pike fishing will halt when the water temperature exceeds 20 degrees 'C' and will resume again when it goes below that temperature.

How much will it cost?
The purchase of a 'Pike/Catch & Release' Ticket will cost just £17.00, you can fish either from the boat or Bank, for boat prices and other information visit www.bewlwater.co.uk/kent/file/flyfishing.php

CLEAR CURE GOO another great new light cure product has hit the shelves this is a bit different to the usual hard cures that are out there check it out ...DL

"Clear Cure Goo is a GREAT VALUE... Think about how much Saltwater Flies cost at a fly shop.... 5 dollars to 7 dollars. You can make at least 30 2/0 Surf Candies with one syringe. 30 flies x 5 dollars equals $150. As you can see the savings in time in using a product that cures hard in 3-5 seconds add that to the savings you get by tying your own flies you can see how valuable Clear Cure Goo can be. Once you purchase the kit, you will only be buying syringes. The light uses 3AAA batteries and will last you well over 150 flies before you notice any lag time in the curing process.

orvis

orvis the u.s.a fly fishing giant has just put out a pike leader with ti trace attached , i had a look at one the other day and although they are OK for what they are i did think the swivel a lock at the business end was far to small and wouldn't take the gauge of eye a lot of our flies have , although its easy enough to change this to a bigger size the leader comes in floating , intermediate , and a sinking version and is priced at 10.99 for 1

this does sound expensive but it will do you for a long time so maybe a good option for a beginner until they can learn how to do there own ..
